MEDWAY
Family Support Officer (Adults) based in Gillingham - Fixed Term Contract ending 31st March 2015
Salary: £33,211p.a.
We have a vacancy working as part of a two person team providing high quality and well respected support for people across the spectrum of autism and their families. The Family Support Service is funded by a Big Lottery Grant awarded to the Kent Autisitc Trust and is due to end on the 31st March 2015.
We are looking for a skilled professional who can demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with people directly with autism and who possess knowledge of systems, funding and services available to adults with autism and their families locally and nationally. They will also have a recognised relevant degree or professional qualification in this field.
The successful applicant will have experience of facilitating guidance groups for parents and carers and hold social skills groups directly with people with autism.
Your energy, drive and ocmmitment will enable you to work with a large and diverse group of people and professionals. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with people.
You will have experience in researching information from various sources and making recommendations. This will enable you to provide focused individual support to families to enable them to meet and overcome the challenges that they are facing.
